Vinyl Dimethicone is a derivative of Dimethicone (q.v.) where some of the methyl groups have been replaced with vinyl groups. The vinyl groups can occur at the ends of the siloxane chain or pendant to the siloxane chain. It conforms generally to the formula: where R is a methyl or vinyl group, and at least one vinyl group is present.
