Oxidized Keratin is the material derived chemically from Keratin (q.v.) by oxidation with hydrogen peroxide. This reaction converts some of the sulfur atoms in Cysteine (q.v.) and Cystine (q.v.) residues in keratin to the corresponding sulfonic acid grouping (cysteic acid).
